In memory of Saoirse we are committed to raising €250,000 for children born with congenital heart disease in Ireland. Saoirse, Superhero to her Dad John sadly passed away in April this year. Conor, Daragh, Enda, John and Roger strive to continue Saoirse’s legacy by raising awareness of congenital heart disease and promoting the life-saving importance of organ donation.

Our Story

We are five determined fathers, including Saoirse's dad, embarking on an extraordinary 5,000 km journey across the Atlantic Ocean. This voyage is in honor of Saoirse and all children born with CHD. Help us fundraise to support these brave children, many of whom battle every day of their lives to survive this invisible lifelong condition.

In April 2024, the world lost a bright and beautiful soul, Saoirse O'Driscoll, to congenital heart disease at just 13 years old. In her memory and inspired by her courage, five determined fathers, including Saoirse's Dad, will embark on an extraordinary journey: rowing across the Atlantic Ocean. This monumental challenge is not just a tribute to Saoirse's legacy, but a heartfelt mission to raise awareness for congenital heart disease (CHD) and the life-saving importance of organ donation.

Team Power of 1 is united by a single, powerful goal: to make a difference in the lives of children and families affected by CHD. As these five dads brave the unforgiving waves and relentless conditions of the Atlantic, they are inspired by Saoirse, driven by the love for their children and the hope for a future where CHD is better understood, and organ donation is universally embraced.

Our chosen charity partners, Heart Children Ireland and the Children’s Heart Centre in CHI Crumlin. Both are at the forefront of supporting children with CHD and their families. Through our journey, our commitment is to raise both funds and awareness to support the incredible work these organisations do, providing vital resources, care, and hope.

Join us in following this epic adventure, as we row not just with our oars, but with our hearts. Together, we can honour Saoirse's memory, spread awareness about congenital heart disease, and champion the cause of organ donation.
